This sample study plan is just one way to approach SAT practice. Change it to fit your group’s needs.

16-Week Study Plan

Week 1
  • Set ground rules.
  • Agree on a study plan.
  • Work with a partner to set personal goals.
  • Agree on the week’s quizzes.
Weeks 2 & 3
  • Ask and answer questions.
  • Agree on the week’s quizzes.
  • Check in on mini-goals and award points.
  • Practice for at least 30 minutes, twice a week.
  • Take assigned quizzes.
  • Prepare 1 or 2 questions to ask at the next meeting.
Week 4 Take a full-length practice SAT as a group (3 hours plus 50 minutes if you write an essay).
  • Score the full-length practice test.
  • Review the test questions you missed.
  • Email your team and let them know what you did well and what you need help with.
  • Prepare 1 or 2 questions for the next meeting.
