Taking the Test

beginning of content:

The PSAT 8/9 is offered between September and April each year.

Get Ready for Test Day

Preparing for test day is simple:

  1. Ask your school counselor when your class will take the PSAT 8/9.
  2. Get a list of what materials to bring on test day—and what to leave at home.
  3. If you need testing accommodations for students with disabilities, talk to your counselor.
  4. If you're homeschooled or testing outside the U.S., find out what to do.

You’ll get an email when your scores are available. To see your scores, you’ll need to log in to or create your College Board account.

That's it—if you’re a student.

If you’re an educator, learn about ordering tests, giving the test, and more. Go to K–12 Educators.
